Germany Service
The Germany SIM card, combined with an international mobile phone, is the most simple and economical solution for staying in touch while in Germany. All incoming calls while you travel through Germany are FREE, regardless of where they originate. Pay the local rate for local calls and use a mobile phone in Germany like you do at home. Since this SIM card is prepaid, there are no monthly fees and no need for a contract.
This service requires registration BEFORE YOU TRAVEL. You will need to provide a scan of your passport, your invoice number, ICCID number, a scan of your driver's license and your address. Please consult your User Guide for further details.

Rates
Domestic calls
Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls using your E-Plus German SIM card within Germany. All incoming calls are free.
The Germany SIM card supports 2 domestic tariff rates. You are allowed to change rate plans once for free. Subsequent plan changes are 15 EUR per change. Subsequent plan changes are 15 EUR per change. We think the Weekday plan offers better rates unless you plan on calling other E-Plus cell phone subscribers, in which case we would stay with the default..

International calls are Euro 1.84 ($2.61)/min and Euro 0.39 ($0.53)/SMS to Europe and North America.

Coverage
Activating your service
Your Germany mobile phone number will be written on the envelope containing your SIM card and begins 49.
To activate your service:
- Travel to Germany.
- Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
- Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
- Turn your phone on.
- Enter the PIN code^
- You will automatically be credited for 15 Euros of Talk Time
- Start calling.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^ The PIN/PUK codes are located under 4 removable black tabs on a white paper enclosed with your SIM card pack. To read the PIN you must remove the tab, reverse the tab and then place it back against the clear "window pane". In case you enter the wrong pin code 3 times, your mobile phone will be blocked. You may then unblock the phone by entering PUK 1. PIN 2 is then in effect. Save the PUK code in a safe place. If the PUK code is entered wrong 10 times then your SIM card will be permanently blocked.
Making and receiving calls
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Germany mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, followed by the country code 49 and your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 49 and then your mobile phone number.
Recharging your account
To add credit to your Germany SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Airtime vouchers. You will find these vouchers at most convenience stores, tabac shops, petrol stations and generally any store selling newspapers displaying the E-Plus logo in Germany. They may be purchased in denominations of Euro 15 ($21) or Euro 30 ($38) and you receive the equivalent in airtime.
To recharge your account:
- Purchase a recharge voucher.
- Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your 16 digit voucher code.
- Dial 1155 from your own mobile phone.
- Select option 4.
- Follow the instructions to enter your voucher code.
- Press 1 to confirm and hang up.
- Start calling
Your account will be credited within 15 minutes.
Alternatively you may dial *104*16-digit voucher code# and then 'dial'.
Do not purchase another Germany SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Contacting Customer Service
Customer service for your Germany SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 1150 from your mobile phone.
Service life
The initial 15 Euro credit is valid for 12 months, after which you will have 2 additional months to recharge your account.
If you do not recharge your account within the validity period, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
A 15 EUR airtime voucher will extend the service life for an additional 6 months and a 30 EUR airtime voucher will extend the service life for an additional 12 months
