Coverage
Activating your service
Your Croatia mobile phone number can be found on the card insert inside your CD ROM case, which also contains your Croatia sim card.
To activate your service:
- Travel to Croatia.
- Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
- Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
- Turn your phone on.
- Enter the 4 digit PIN code^
- A FIRST call MUST be ATTEMPTED but NOT necessarily completed to any local number in Croatia.
- Start calling.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^ The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code incorrectly. Your phone may or may not prompt you for a PIN code. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone along with PIN2. The PIN and PUK may be found under a dark blue cover. A Bank PIN and PUK in a white envelope is also included and may be disregarded.
Making and receiving calls
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Croatia mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, followed by the country code 385 and your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 385 and then your mobile phone number.
Recharging your account
To add credit to your Croatia SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called VIPme vouchers. They are available in 2 denominations: 100kn (90 day validity) and 200kn (180 day validity)
To recharge your account:
- Purchase a recharge voucher.
- Tear the protective foil off the VIPme voucher
- Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your 14 digit voucher code.
- Call the number 091 77 88 (free of charge)
- Enter the 14 digit number.
Follow the instructions provided by the operator.
Do not purchase another Croatia SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Contacting Customer Service
Customer service for your Croatia SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 091 77 77 from your mobile phone.
Service life
After a 90 day validity period (100kn voucher), or 180 day (200kn voucher) validity period, you have an additional 90 days to recharge your account.
If you do not recharge within the 90 days, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
